With 15 years of experience in different clinical settings, extensive research and publications in the field of blood flow and cardiovascular medicine, and a recipient of multiple awards, Dr. Zarrabi is currently one of the best physicians in Northern Virginia area.
Dr. Zarrabi received his medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and completed his residency in internal medicine at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. His post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Texas Heart Institute and University of Texas in Houston focused on identifying vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques in coronary arteries. He completed a course of training in Neuro-rehabilitation at Harvard University and incorporates the latest discoveries in this field for his patients.
Dr. Zarrabi received his medical degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 1989 and completed his residency in internal medicine at MedStar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore.
Dr. Zarrabi served as the Chief Resident at MedStar Harbor Hospital and received the Director’s Award for the best performance among all house staff. He also served as the co-chair for the Chief Residents Association of Baltimore (under American College of Physician). For the first time in history of NAPDIM (National Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine), Dr. Zarrabi directed a workshop in Atlanta on “Clinical Telecommunications/Telemedicine” for chief residents as an incoming chief in 2012. Dr. Zarrabi was a pioneer in the field of telemedicine and served as the lead Physician for telemedicine services in the Baltimore area at Kaiser Permanente medical group.
During his post-doctoral fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Texas Heart Institute and University of Texas in Houston, Dr. Zarrabi published his research on novel diagnostic techniques to identify vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques in prestigious medical journals and presented his research findings in multiple international conferences.
Dr. Zarrabi has a keen interest in promoting brain health through optimizing sleep, blood flow to the brain, and implementing holistic approaches for his patients. He completed a course of training in Neurorehabilitation at Harvard University and incorporates the latest discoveries in the field of neuroplasticity in his daily clinical practice. He enjoys seeing significant improvements in his patients who complete the 12-week brain rehabilitation program at our center.
